Afresh music was founded in 2007 by Demetrius Williams, Nephew of 1960’s and 70’s recording artist Pauline Shivers. The late Pauline Shivers never gained popularity as other soul singers from Chicago such as; Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, The Emotions, The Staple Singers or The Dells but it wasn’t because of her lack of musical talent but the lack of networks to showcase or put spotlight on new talent especially new talent from small record labels.
